Radiation Machine

This video is shot at 400% of normal speed to  make it watchable. At full length (18+ minutes) it is pretty boring and difficult to watch. Of course from my end I was clamped to the table with a face mask which is not boring but was annoying, uncomfortable and somewhat claustrophobic. Treatments were every weekday for 35 treatments.

Radiation Treatment Mask

Picture
Radiation Mask
This is the radiation mask that the therapists use to clamp my head and shoulders to the table so that I cannot move during radiation treatments.

Each treatment is approx 18-20 minutes and there were 35 of them. This means that I spent over 11 hours with this mask clamped over my face.

Check out the above video to see a 400% speed video of a typical treatment.

Since all of the masks are custom made the hospital does not have any further use for them once treatment has completed, the patient can take them home if they desire. In this shot it is sitting on my foosball table.
